The Mountain View Toros took state in Boys Basketball! Woo! We played Brophy and won 50-29, I believe. It was so much fun to go to the game, cheer on our great team, and, of course, sing "We are the Champions" on TV with Katie.

This morning Jen called me up to see if I could watch the boys while she and Carson moved into their new house. I love my J, I, and Oober! Since the weather was perfect today, I decided to take them to the park! I seriously felt like a mom. I packed some snacks and a thermos with cold water, got their carseats all buckled in the car, and drove the big suburban to the park. They were so excited to go to the park, but then they didn't even want to play on the playset! All they wanted to do was watch Clark, Caleb, and their friends play baseball.

Elections are TOMORROW!! Ahh I'm sorta freaking out. A lot. I'm running against Nate Tingey and Mackenzie Skousen. They've both had great campaigns and would be an awesome Senior Class President, and I feel like the outcome could go either way. Although I really want to win so bad, I know everything will happen for the best! I've worked my hardest and given it my all, so I will try to be happy with whatever happens! Am I the only one that thinks it doesn't feel like Christmas yet? Maybe it has to do with the fact that it's only 75 degrees outside! I mean, I can't complain- I hate cold weather. So, being able to wear shorts and having to turn on the air conditioning in my car isn't that big of a let down. But, it would be nice to have a little of this sometime:

Yes, I'm dreaming of a white Christmas. And, anyone who knows me knows that I really hate snow. But doesn't cuddling up on a couch with some hot cocoa in front of the fireplace in a cabin surrounded by snow just sound wonderful?! I think so.

do you ever have those days where you feel so stressed and you know there's so much to do, but you just can't do anything? i feel like that's what i do almost every day. i know finals are next week, i even have a final this week, i have a ton of stuff to get done by friday, and i just got a notice that i'm going to be terminated from nhs for not having enough hours... and i swear i did them! i had hardly any homework tonight, so that's good right? i can get a lot of stuff done. but wrong! i did NOTHING. ahh i feel like that's all i do! so this is my list of stuff to get done and hopefully putting it up here will put a little more pressure on me (even though that's very unprobable since nobody reads my blog ha!).

Winter Formal was a blast this year! I'll have more pictures from the dance/day activity up later, but it's late and I'm too tired to do that tonight! (That also explains why the post is going to be backwards...)

Since we had a little time before the dance, a few couples came with me and stopped by Grandma Brown's (well, now Stradling!) and Mel's open house. I'm trying to find just one word to sum that up... we'll just go with interesting. The traditional kissing picture!

Haha this is by far my absolute favorite picture! Bennett and Wilson are my favorites! We had to keep taking more pictures because Wils wouldn't stop lauging!

October Break: Part 2

This year for October Break we went to Winston, New Mexico to live on a dude ranch for a a few days! It would be an understatement to say it was fun.

Our family went four years ago with the McCleves too!

I took one of my best friends Shiersten Uchytil. She was a natural on a horse!

We rode for about 8 hours straight a day. We only got one break for lunch for about a half hour. The first day during lunch, we explored a cave. It was super cool!

I quickly learned that not wearing sunblock was a bad idea. I got fried! You can barely see my sunburn line on my neck in this picture! I peeled for about 2 1/2 weeks after and I still have a tan from it shaped in a v on my neck (I was wearing a v-neck the day I got the most sun). And, since i peeled, my neck is now just super splotchy.

It was kind of sad when a boy sitting next to me in Spanish says "Look! You're not peeling anymore!" FAIL.

On the second day at work, we went on a cattle round-up. After rounding up about 80 cows in the mountains, we had the privilege (not really) of branding and castrating some calves. Or how my mom puts it, "Making a boy cow into a girl cow!" Now that was something I've never experienced!

First, we had to tackle the calf. It may sound easy, but they weighed between 100 and 200 pounds!

After getting the calf on the ground, about six of us held it down. Because there was no numbing, the calf would kick super hard when the "procedures" were performed. Everyone got kicked a few times, but we just had to brush it off and just hold on stronger.

This is me and "the family jewels" as we called them! It was definitely an unforgettable experience!

I loved my horse Dejah and can't wait to go back again!

P.S. This is me almost falling off my horse running at full speed.

October Break

October Break was a couple of weeks ago, but it was so much fun and I can't not blog about it!

It started off with Courntey Clark's baptism! I remember when whe was a little baby! I feel old!Look how small and cute she was! I believe this is when she was 4.

Then, me and one of my very best friends Emmy Wright worked at this legit 50's party.

This is our work station. We made milkshakes, ice cream sundaes, sodas, and rootbeer floats. Let me tell ya, we can make a mean chocolate shake!

You know how "stressed" spelled backwards is "desserts"? Well, I'm taking that seriously! I'm beyond stressed, and what do I do? I eat my weight in homemade peach cobbler (and milk, of course)! Probably not a good thing to do, considering this weekend is Homecoming! Ahh! This weekend! That's so stinking soon! And that is partly because I'm stressed!

First of all, I'm in charge of the Homecoming Assembly this Friday. That means, I'm running a whole assembly in front of all of Mountain View. 3,000+ people. Crazy! Then we have the parade, the football game, and all the fun that goes with that. Then... Homecoming! I'm soooo excited! Then a week and a half later, I have the blood drive that I'm in charge of. I was really excited for it, but now I'm starting to feel the pressure of pulling off these two big things in such a short amount of time. And, to top it off, my English teacher gave us our "Long Form" project today. Now, imagine this: spending four straight hours working on a project. That was me yesterday working on the "Short Form". Short?! But wait... it gets even better! The Long Form is due on the day of the Blood Drive! Ha! My biggest event of the school year is the day my Long Form is due! Fun!

Now, I'm off to work on my Long Form! Wish me luck!

Day Activity with Drew!

Last night was my Homecoming day activity with Drew and it was SO much fun!

Here's how the date went:

After Drew picked me up, we went over to Schnepf Farms. Since Dallin Skousen's aunt owns it, we got the whole place to ourselves! Soo cool. We rode the roller coaster and the other rides, went to the petting zoo, and went throught the maze. Drew, however, forgot to tell me we were having an airsoft war! But, it was still fun! Even though I got shot probably 30 times by Jace and his automatic, I didn't shoot one person. I just tried to hide and stay away from everyone!

I know this post is way past due (like usual), but here are a few recent happenings in my life.

I got asked to Homecoming! I'm so excited! And the boy is...drumroll please... DREW CALLISTER! I can't wait! There was so much chaos when I got asked, that I didn't even get one picture of anything! And I totally forgot to take pictures when I answered him! I'm so mad I forgot. But, he asked me with a lot of ice cream and a poster that said "I'd scream if you went to Homecoming with me!" I answered him with some IBC rootbeer and a sign that said "IBCing you at Homecoming!" Haha it was really fun! Well, since there was a really cute on sale last year, I alread have my dress and accessories, so no worrying about that! The day before Homecoming, I'm in charge of putting together the Homcoming Assembly, so I hope I don't get too stressed!

On Friday night, I went on a date with Blake McClure. IT.WAS.SO.MUCH.FUN. I think he had a ton of fun too, since he keeps talking about it! We went with Emmy Wright and Korbin McCallister, Catie Porter and Trent Oldroyd, Katie Clark and Jake Jackson, and Stephanie Connelly and Brandon Burrell. Catie's dad is a pilot, so we went flying. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do that part, but everyone said it was a blast! Then, we went to Catie's house and had waffles and played games. I haven't laughed so hard in the longest time. We played a game I'd never played before: Kissing Rugby. Now, it really sounds worse than it is, but it was a ton of fun!

The Traditions Assembly was the past Friday, and being in Student Council, I was a part of it! Since it was a triple assembly, we did it three times, and I basically embarassed myself in every single assembly. And that is not an exaggeration. I had to model the Mtn. View sweatshirt in the fashion show and then demonstrate a game for the spirit competition. Basically, there's a tissue box full of ping pong balls tied around your waist with the box right above your behind and the object is to shake all of the balls out of the box. Yes, I demonstrated that. Yes, there was a big screen. Yes, they zoomed in on my rear end. Yes, random people commented on my booty-shaking skills throughout the day. Was I humiliated? Just a little. But, it was still really fun! I can't wait for the next assembly next Friday!

well yesterday was the dreaded first day of school. what?? i thought i was just in school? summer went by so fast! by it was super fun! i'm just glad to get my junior year over with and then i'll be a SENIOR!! yay! and i also love not being a sophomore anymore. i feel so much older than all the new little squashmores at mvt!

so my first hour is student council, nothing new. it felt so normal to be there, since the last couple weeks of summer i was there practically every day for hours. i knew my teacher and her expectations and everyone in my class, so that was super nice.

then i go to second hour, right down the hall. spanish 4. why am i taking it? i. don't. know. but i've heard it's a super fun class with lots of fiestas! now, that i can deal with! i met my teacher the day before the first day of school because i was helping teachers get their rooms together for student council. right when i told her i was one of her students, she started going all off in spanish! i didn't understand it at all! i just mumbled out "no comprendo... es el verano". (translation: i don't understand... it's still summer!) haha so i'm hoping my spanish memory kicks in... soon!

third hour is on the other side of campus, but i don't care!

i love it so much! it's algebra 2. now, i would normally hate math. but, i have two of my best friends emmy wright and cami shreeve in there. and i found out that one of my favorite sophomores is in there too, and i sit right by him! we don't really have a seating chart, so i'm thinking i'll be pretty chatty in that class! but so far, it's easy and i've heard great things about the teacher. i'm excited to see how this goes!

fourth hour is anatomy. i really love the teacher! she's down-to-earth, and completely understanding. she said she was warned about me (haley?)... i don't know what that means! i'm already studying for that class's vocabulary test on monday! also, today we had a preassesment test, just to see if we knew the basics. well guess what. i didn't know the basics at all! great. when i got to the part that said "name all the systems in the body and their functions" i was like "yes, i know one!" and then: my mind went blank. of course! and what is the only system i can remember? the reproductive system. it's function? how else to say it then "to make babies"? so my paper was pretty blank when i finally turned it in. and right after class, i remembered the rest of the sysytems. nice.

fifth hour is seminary! i love it already! i saw some of my favorite squashmore friends in my hour and i was really hoping they'd be in my class, but of course not! but i love my teacher so far. tia had him her senior year and loved him too. i'm really excited!

sixth hour. ap junior english. the first thing my teacher says to our class is "i am certain this is the single hardest class at mountain view". what did i get myself into? she then proceeded to tell us that our ap test at the end of the year consisted of writing three different essays with a 60 question multiple choice part. in 4 hours. three essays with an additional test in 4 hours? seriously?! and then she said the national passing rate is 50%. but her classes' passing rate was 92%, a little more promising. i won't get into details about the rest of her hour-long lecture, but it was pretty scary. today i was scared out of my mind when she said we were having a graded discussion about our last night's homework, and "you need to say something intelligent in order to receive your points in the discussion". as she says that not everybody will get called on, i repeat please don't call on me. please don't call on me. please don't call on me. "and cassidy will begin our discussion!" thanks. somehow, a comment somewhat intelligent came out of my mouth, and my teacher really like it! score! i'm starting to like her. a little.

this year is going to be so much fun! stressful and busy, i know, but a blast!

this summer, i've seen more movies than the whole school year combined! there's only been a few bad movies, but hey, i'm not complaining!

KNIGHT AND DAY

Tom Cruise is, i'm not gonna lie, pretty attractive for his age.

overall, the movie was pretty good, and surprisingly pretty clean. it's one of those brainless movies. you know, one you don't even have to think about. sweet. INCEPTION leonardo dicaprio. need i say more? okay now you're going to definitely need your brain for this one! this movie was crazy. bizarre. i'd even go as far as insane. but, it was awesome. i mean a-maz-ing. i'm dying to go see it again because i know it would be even better the second time. i definitely recommend it to everyone! and then there's... Charlie St. Cloud with, of course, zac efron. i.love.zac.efron. so, i saw the midnight pemiere with cami shreeve and a bunch of other friends. i was sooo excited for this movie. much to my disappointment, i didn't like it. at all. let's get real here: zac efron was great. the movie was not. it didn't hold my attention and in all honesty was a little bit creepy. but, i think you should still go see it (even if it is just for zac efron!).

i don't know if you've noticed, but it's august now. august! school officially starts in ten days. a week and a half. wow. and for me, school starts tomorrow. toro links meeting from 7:30-1:00 and then stuco meetings from 1:30-5:30. at school... all day... for the last week of summer. yay.*

sorry for not blogging for the past month, but i've been really busy... and i love it!

anyways, here's a recap of the last 4 weeks.

GIRLS CAMP

girls camp was way fun- a lot more fun than i thought it would be! i loved my girls, my ward, and my other ycl's. unfortunately, though, i didn't take any pictures. not a single one. but, i still had a blast! ASPEN GROVE

every year i have loved aspen grove, and this year was no different. i LOVED it! it was so much fun to be with my cousins 24/7- not many people can do that. but i learned so much about my cousins, and got to know them all a little bit better.

thank you grandma & grandpa for a fun vacation!

STUCO CAMP

yesterday i just got back from an AASC student council camp for schools all over the state. i had a blast! i was really scared to go, since haley and tia had both gotten sick up there, but luckily i didn't had such a fun time! when ms. scott told us it was going to be an emotional roller coaster, nobody had any clue what that meant. but, she was 100% right. we went from laughing, to crying, to smiling, to bawling, to laughing... and then all over again!

we had to scream as loud as we could for food (not a highlight!), live and be in councils with nobody you knew, dance like crazy all the time, make up cheers and skits, break 1" boards with my fist, stare into the eyes of almost 500 complete strangers for 20 seconds, tell your council your innermost secrets, get hopefully 4 hours of sleep, write anonymous love letters to random guys, share 3 bathroom stalls and 8 showers with about 80 girls, and make lifelong friendships and bonds with council members and mvt stuco members. it was definitely an amazing and unforgettable experience!

i know it's 12:30 a.m. and i could be doing a lot of things that need to be done right now like packing for girls' camp or sleeping, but i really wanted to blog right now! and i probably won't be able to blog for the next while! i'm going to girls' camp on saturday. i have mixed feelings about this. every year i end up having a blast, but i just hate camping. and dirt. and bugs. but, it's a new adventure this year. i'm going to be a ycl for some 3rd levels. i'm super excited, but i don't really like the idea of being away from my own ward. they're like my family... so i'll be a little ward sick. overall, though, i know i'm going to have a great time!

two days after i get back from girls' camp, i hit the road for utah. i seriously love utah (only during the summers, though!) i love staying at the condo with my family (although the circumstances this year will not allow it), and walking to the creamery on ninth east on a daily basis. i'm not kidding when i say they have the best ice cream. and i'm not even an ice cream fan! i love roaming the byu bookstore and i've always loved the bean museum. gosh, i've had some great memories in utah. like the summer carie broke her jaw (okay, not really a great memory, but a memory nonetheless), or the summer haley and i spent a week with the snows and then a week with the esteses for byu gymnastics camp. and one of my most favorite memories of all is aspen grove! i love, love, love aspen grove! we've gone with the brown family two times, and now this year we are going with the whole clark family (minus the snows)! i'm stoked! i haven't had a bad experience yet. *knock on wood* i'm really excited to just have a week to relax and catch up with my cousins. after aspen grove, we're having the meldrum reunion that my grandma's in charge of. i'm excited because those are always fun. then, i'm hoping to meet up with a friend going to byu, and then i have a date lined up! crazy, crazy, crazy!

later this summer, i have stuco camp, toro links meetings, stuco meetings, and hopefully a trip to nyc with my mom and haley. the boys are going on the 100th anniversary boy scout jamboree for about three weeks. my mom talked about my dad possibly meeting up with them while us girls go to nyc. i really, really hope it all works out!

well, pretty much i love summer so far. i feel like i've been kinda lazy, but i really want to do some crafty projects, so we'll see how that goes. i already made some really cute headbands for me and the girls i'm ycl-ing for. one of my favorite things to do during the summertime, is stay up late (hence, the late-night posting). haley and i have that in common, which usually results in late-night "heart-t0-hearts". just the other night, we stayed up til past two a.m. talking in my bed. we just lay down and talk about the randomest things. this last one was particularly interesting. tia was sitting outside our room, and told us the next morning she could hear us yelling and fighting with eachother, and then suddenly start busting up laughing! we tend to do that a lot. fight then laugh. but i guess there are worse alternatives!

well seeing that tia's demanding her lap top, and it is now close to one, i'm signing out.

a lot has been going on! First of all, school is over in exactly one month from tomorrow. Bascially, I'm really excited! School is getting to the point where I'm starting to not care about anything anymore. But, I'm trying my best to get through the next month and try my hardest to keep up my grades!

Anywho, just last week I was inducted into National Honor Society! Since I already do a lot of service for church and Student Council, it might as well count for something, right?

In addition to being inducted into NHS, Haley and I were also accepted into Toro Links. It's a group that does Sophomore Orientation and other activities. We're both super excited about it!

Also, Student Council is going great so far! Ms. Scott, the advisor, has already put us to work! Every Tuesday and Thursday we have lunch meetings, we're doing a service project next month, and we're planning graduation! Crazy! And on top of it all, I worked at prom on Saturday. It was fun to see all of my sophomore friends who got asked in their dresses! And... I felt pretty important when I got to put the sash on the prom royalty!

I'm super excited for Student Council next year! It's going to be a blast! And, I'm soo excited because Emmy Wright is going to be in Student Council, Toro Links, and NHS with me! I love her!

it's been 1 year (on monday) since...

the david archuleta fireside! in my stake. that's right! on march 15th of last year, david archuleta came to my stake for a fireside. he sang some songs and answered some questions, and i was definitely in heaven!

the next day was the day i had been anticipating for weeks:

THE CONCERT.

we waited in line for 9 hours in the blistering heat and glaring sun... but it was totally worth it!

we came prepared with our 69 cent sodas...

and our big beach umbrellas.

after patiently (or not so patiently) waiting, having a 30-second appearance on the 6 o'clock news, and meeting a band member or two, we packed into the small theater where the concert was held. we pushed our way to the front and waited another hour. it was the squishiest and hottest hour of my life! but, finally david came out and we went crazy!

it was amazing!! this was my very first concert, but i can't see another concert being better!

i haven't blogged in a while, so here's a little recap of what's been going on in my life!

SADIE'S sadie's was a blast! i had soo much fun with my group and with parker! here are some pictures!

for dinner we went to maddi whiteman's house and made the yummiest homemade pizza i've ever had. then, we went to the dance and went CRAZY! i saw some of the funniest costumes, dance moves, and people ever!

after the dance, we went to polar ice and played broom hockey. it was fun to have it all to ourselves!

STUDENT COUNCIL

in my last post i announced that i'm going to be in student council this year! yippee! i'm so, so, so excited! it's going to be so much fun! i ran unopposed, so i didn't have to worry about speeches or campaigning at all! what a relief! cami, emmy, and katie all ran unopposed too! yayyyy!

since i'm not going to campaign for myself, i'm going to help haley campaign for student body president.

May 13, 2009: the day i got this.

my permit. finally! i felt so cool being able to drive

around the neighborhood with my parents. so cool.

but now, i have this.

sooo much better! having my license is so great! honestly, if i want to go

somewhere, i just hop in my car and i can go wherever i want! (unless

haley knows...) but, driving is so underrated. seriously.

this past weekend was my sadie's day activity!! so after changing our minds about what we would do at least 27 times, we decided to go to castles-n-coasters, a small amusement park in phoenix. it sounded all good until saturday came and it was rainy. rainy! of all the days to rain in arizona, it rains on the day of our day activity. great. i was so stressed that nothing would work out the way we planned it, or that the park would close due to the rain. but, i'm glad that everything did work out, and i had so much fun!

on the way to castles-n-coasters, parker informed me that he got super sick on any rollercoasters... nice. well after a lot of encouraging and persuading, we finally got parker to go on the big rollercoaster! haha this is sitting in the coaster, right about to go! parker was freaking out, but he said he loved it and even went for a second ride!

i love cami! she is so cute and one of my best friends!

after a long day at castles-n-coasters, we went to in-n-out. but, after driving for about half an hour, we ended up in the middle of nowhere. like literally nowhere. we were like way out in queen creek! haha it was really funny, and after about another half hour, we got to in-n-out!

the day activity was so fun, and i can't wait for sadie's! one more week!

most people know of my sort-of obsession (okay, major obsession!)over david archuleta! but, david better step aside for my new obsession: benton paul. oh my word. he has the most amazing voice ever... and he sings in french. french! ahh love it! and to top it all off, he's extremely good looking. perfect.

as one of my fine art credits, this semester i'm taking a photoshop class and i love it! so when i heard of our next project, i got really excited and since i had some spare time today, i called up taylor to be my model for the day! we headed over to the mesa arts center (so original, i know!) and had tons of fun! this is what we came up with... and our personal favorite... i'm really excited to see what else i will learn! post edit: me and taylor just finished this one like 10 minutes ago!

right now i have so many things to be grateful for. soooo, i've made a list! here it goes... i'm so grateful for this thing! seriously everyone should have a cocomotion! it makes the best hot chocolate! mountain view sweatshirts have saved my life this year! even though the weather had been pretty warm this winter, when the rain came, i wore sweatshirts alot. i even wore sweatshirts for a whole week. (my mom wasn't too happy about that!) wheatbags. another thing that has saved my life. i sleep with at least one (sometimes even two!) everynight, i usually heat one up after school, and i'll sometimes even bring one to school. it keeps me nice and toasty! in-n-out. need i say more? but i will... in-n-out is definitely my favorite hamburger place. who doesn't love in-n-out? my best friend nick and i went there for lunch together yesterday, and totally made my bad day a million times better! no joke. doesn't that just make you starving? okay. who doens't love cardigans? my closet is full of these and i wear one almost everyday! but, i'll never get sick of them! and last, but definitely not least, i'm so grateful for my best friends. the help me to always do what's right, cheer me up when i'm not feeling my best, and are just always there for me. i love them so much! i love these girls! these girls are seriously my very best friends me and emmy at efy i can tell EVERYTHING to lauren i love haley so much and i'm so glad that we're so close!
